Nigerian Afropop sensation Flavour teamed up with traditional Igbo music duo Umu Obiligbo to release “Odogwu” in 2018, creating a masterful blend of contemporary and traditional African sounds.
Umu Obiligbo, consisting of brothers Okpuozor and Akunwafor Obiligbo, brought their signature highlife and Igbo folk elements to the track, complementing Flavour’s rich vocals with their harmonious traditional arrangements and indigenous storytelling.
The song, produced by Masterkraft, appears on Flavour’s studio project, “Awele the EP“. The production seamlessly merges modern Afrobeats with traditional Igbo instruments, creating a cultural bridge that celebrates Nigerian heritage while maintaining contemporary appeal.
